Sev Statik's New Project, Shotgun
New Digital Project by Sev Statik Dropped This Week 7/22
If you are a true hip hop head then you probably stay up on all of the new releases and projects that are coming out. Even so these days there are so many of them it is hard to keep up sometimes. (This is a Good Thing)
With that said...Sev Statik is back on the scene with a brand new smokin "digital" project simply titled "Shotgun" This new project by Sev Statik will be released in digital format only and it will be available exclusively at the Sev Statik Digital Store.
In case you have been under a rock or something Sev Statik is a bit of an icon in the DOHH arena and he and the crews he associates with have gained much respect from secular cats in the game as well.
Sev Statik's affiliations include Deespace5 and the Tunnel Rats. Sev Statik is without a doubt puttin in work. It seems that the wax hasn't even cooled on the last hot project he released "Back To The Dust."
It would be safe to say that part of Sev Statik's longevity is due to the fact that he and his fellow crew members not only are christian emcees..but they address social issues with equal zeal and vigor! This new digital release "Shotgun" features some new talent by way of voices and production, but he remains true to his calling to address social issues, tackling heavy topics such as New Age thinking, Illuminati, and the Church in a way that only Sev Statik can.

Born and raised in Illinois, Deshon Bullock also known as the hip hop crooner Shonlock notoriety and influence travels far beyond the midwest...it's worldwide.
As his bio describes, Shonlock canvasses a form of artistry which resonates into a discerning lesson in ..the art of translation... A former dancer and choreographer who has worked with the likes of Arrested Development and R&B princess Aaliyah. He is a multi-instrumentalist, serving up the type of production, lyricism, and performance stamina that leave fans yearning for more.
Shonlock's genius has garnered him an
eclectic space in the arena of emerging spiritually-conscious artists;however the Atlanta-based lyricists.. resume rivals that of most
veteran artists. ..I started my career in the clubs of Chicago, during
a time when hip hop..soul and b-boyin.. were just how we rolled. I

There is nothing wrong with wanting to look good right. After all we all want to have a positive impression on people. The way we dress says alot about who we are. Some of us are more creative than others..and some are truly more bolder in there fashion selections. To that I say "to each his own!"
The first up will be a young man who is definitely getting his grind on! He has been faithfully working at building his company from a small t-shirt shop into a full fledge Christian Clothing Line. As if that wasn't enough to keep him busy this young man also works with DOHH artist and produces free mixtapes that they make available to the public to help spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. So stay tuned for more...

The challenge is for you to consider where you money goes when you buy your gear. If you are a believer, do the dollars you spend on clothing and accessories go toward building the kingdom...or are they actually invested in more things that are in opposition to the advancement of the Kingdom?
The same way that there are alternatives to the negative images and messages in hip hop by way of Dat Other Hip Hop...there are also high quality alternatives when it comes to choosing your gear. The best part is that this gear not only gives you a creative way to display your faith...but you can have peace knowing that your purchases of these items serve as an investment into Kingdom Work...and that is what it is all about right?

Newly Released
New projects are droppin left and right it's almost hard to keep up with them. Here's a few of the recent projects that have dropped.
LORD FIRE by Theory Hazit is heatin things up! This indy project from Theory dropped on Jun 24th and has been blazin since. Mr Hazit teamed up with Vintage to create an instant hip hop classic. Hip Hop heads are gonna love this one. Theory Hazit's projects are always a treat for the ear and this one is no different. Be on the look out for the review here soon!

Liberation by Excelsius released 6/24What can I say I love every project X does. He is always on point and manages to load every track full of wisdom and knowledge if Dat Other Hip Hop had a Bishop...Excelsius would have to be it! This latest project of his Liberation is right on time as it tackles issues like addiction, pornography and being Set Free in Christ. With the help of a few guest artist Excelsius takes the listener on a fantastic musical voyage..and if you aren't careful you just might learn somethin by the end of the CD better yet ya just might get LIBERATED!

Life on Life by JSON Ridaz Rejoice! This is music you can ride to. JSON helps to heat things up this summer. If you have never heard any of his projects before you may recognize his voice from the interludes on Flame's projects Our World Fallen and Our World Redeemed. Life on Life is both bangin and relevant. You wont find any spiritually thin rhymes here. This is his sophomore release but it feels like he has been wieldin the mic forever. Video Shoots
Flame - Cross Movement Records' Christian Rap artist FLAME is working on the video for the hip hop rock infused track JOYFUL NOISE single from his Billboard chart-topping album OUR WORLD REDEEMED . Shooting was scheduled to begin on May 23 in Atlanta, GA. The music video will also feature Christian Rock artist John Reilly (of the Philly based band Reilly) and Reach Records' Christian Rap artist Lecrae. The track is hot (another Chike production) can't wait to see the video

RAWSRVNT - Them FLA Boyz Rawsrvnt and Pettidee had Florida Throwin them Bows up at then end of May when they began shooting the video for Bows Up! Filming took place at one of the livest spots in Florida...Crossover Church. With Spec workin behind the scenes we know the final product is going to be just as hype as the song! (Spec also directed Raw's Holiness video.)
