Today Ambassador's third project "The Chop Chop" dropped. His first project "Christology" is without a doubt a classic, and The Chop Chop is just as good if not better.

If you haven't copped this already...you need to get moving. The Chop Chop is a classic straight out the shelf...go get it!

What's His Name....His Name is Pro

Labels: , ,

I was web surfing the other day and I came across this entry titled "His Name is Pro" on the Holy Ridaz Remixxed website.  I did a little digging and discovered Pro has been around for a minute and dude has a really nice flow.  He just released a new mixtape, titled "mynameispro, The Introduction" hosted by the world famous DJ Wade-O and it is smokin hot!!!  Since we showcase Dat Other Hip Hop here we thought we would introduce you to Pro.

Check the Bio:

Lets do the math. You’re handed 5:1 odds – You’re young, African American, born without a Silver Spoon in sight, living in a single parent household, and surrounded by hopelessness. Such were the odds against the now 23-year-old PRO. Born in Pontiac, Michigan as the son of a Jazz musician, music was inherited to PRO as a natural birthright. His parents met in Michigan where they instilled in him early, the foundations of the entertainment phenomenon you see today. While in the 1st grade shortly after his mother committed her life to Christ she and PRO relocated to Columbia TN leaving his determined father to pursue his Jazz career on his own.
“Growing up moms didn’t let me listen to rap until I was about 13 years old. I would go around from house to house, door to door, trying to get better at rapping and learning how to produce. I soon found out how quickly you can get the run around in the music world and how people will try to use your ideas for their gain.” PRO. But luckily in a place where poison was just an arms length away in every direction, the faith and support of a loving mother nourished the delicate dreams her son to prevent a stagnant imagination.
“At age 15 mom bought me my first 8-track recorder; the next year a keyboard so I could do my own music. She taught me how to be assertive and independent, and to not sweat the small stuff.” PRO This hard work and careful parenting landed PRO a scholarship to Middle Tennessee State University where he would begin to make his dreams a reality through his own record label. Hooking up with local artists and polishing his writing, production, and vocal skills PRO soon accumulated a small army of friends and support including the help of Chris “Dirty-Rice” Mackey the other half of the Hardworking duo “The Technicians”. Audio Leak: 3 Songs From Lecrae's "REBEL"

Labels: , ,

Lecrae is on the verge of releasing his new project "Rebel."  Slated for release on September 30, 2008, Lecrae hopes to move the listener to view the world through the lens of the Bible and see things the way God sees them. For some artist that might seem like a big task, but if anyone can pull it off it's Lecrae.
It seems like forever since Lecrae shook things up with the release of "After The Music Stops."   That album broke the mold, I played that CD so many times I think the laser melted a hole in it.  It ministered something to me each time I listened to it and true to it's name, it had me thinking and soul searching long after the music had stopped.  I have actually had to buy several copies because people listened to it in the car and wanted to hear more, so I let them have it.
In just a few weeks "Rebel" will hit the shelves, packed with 15 spiritually fat tracks.  If you are familiar with Reach Records and the 116 Clique, then you know that this is probably going to be another instant classic, not to mention that on this one Lecrae teams up with another reputable force in Christian Hip Hop, Cross Movement Records.  Take my word...you want to get this...in fact you just might want to pre-order it.
Here's a few tracks that you can check out until the project is released.  You can find out more about this and other Reach Records projects by visiting them at reachrecords.com

Escaping Me by Brinson of GodChaserz Ent - A Review

Labels: , , ,

Reviewed by Da Scribe
27 August 2008
Of all of the new releases being dropped this year, one of the most anticipated was the release of "Escaping Me" by Brinson.  Brinson, who was already wearing quite a few hats , Media Mogul, Super Producer, and star of the Extreme Witnessing Videos, added a new hat, rapper / artist.  "Escaping Me" marks Brinson's debut as an artist.  I have witnessed samples of Brinson's style on other GCE releases. (Dat's Gospel Mixx CD)  Prior to the release date I had heard the lead single  from the Album, titled "Solar Powered."
The lead single was hot, Brinson and D-M.A.U.B. joined together and heated things up revealing that their true source of Power came from the Son.  After hearing it I became even more anxious to listen to the entire album.  Like many people I speculated as to what I would hear.  Would there be more comedic antics like those in "Too High" or "Dat's Gospel Aerobics."  Would he be serious and heavy like J-Mack was on Jihad, or would he take a more personal approach like ReadyWriter on Conduit.  When I finally got my hands on it and gave it a listen all of my speculations were put to rest and my questions were answered...yes to all of the above.
"Escaping Me"  was everything I expected it to be and then some.  This CD contains 17 tracks, top notch production, and guest appearances from some of the industry's finest.  Guest appearances include; Pettidee, Jovan Mackenzy, Jahaziel, Knine, and D-M.A.U.B. to name a few.   Brinson shows his production savvy on this project as he teams up with a guest of many of the tracks.  Like a wise coach putting his best players on the court, Brinson matches up the right artist on the right songs, creating some unforgettable  tracks that will have you head bobbin and singing right along with them.
"Escaping Me" packs all of the power you would expect from a GodChaserz Ent release.  Instead of pointing the finger, Brinson turns the spotlight on himself, revealing his awareness that he is nothing without Christ.  I really enjoyed listening to this cd and I can see myself putting this on repeat (in fact I have done so several times already.)
The message and content of  "Escaping Me" is solid and consistent, and the production is high quality.  I enjoyed Escaping Me, in it's entirety but there were several stand out tracks for me, and those were; Solar Powered, What Should I Pray, Hear What I'm Talking, SuperBadd, SuperBadd U.K. Remix and It's Alright.  Here's the entire track list:
  1. Hello
  2. I Can’t See Myself feat ReadyWriter and Jovan Mackenzy
  3. As Long As I Live feat Rossi
  4. Escaping Me feat Ryan Horton
  5. Hear What I’m Talkin feat Knine & Tenth Leper
  6. I Remember feat Oppose and Verses
  7. Solar Powered feat D. M.A.U.B.
  8. It’s Alright feat Rossi
  9. SuperBadd Uk Remix feat Jahaziel
  10. SuperBadd feat Pettidee & Jovan Mackenzy
  11. These Are Things
  12. Things You Shouldn’t Hear
  13. What Should I Pray feat Knine & Jovan Mackenzy
  14. We Need the Savior
  15. U Want Hip Hop? feat ReadyWriter & H.E.A.V.Y.
  16. Who Wanna Be Free
  17. Why Do I Need God

Normally when I purchase a CD from an artist I am not familiar with I use a 3 to 4 song requirement, that is at least three or four songs have to be bangin in order for me to purchase the CD.  Had I not been familiar with Brinson and the GCE reputation, "Escaping Me" would have easily met that requirement.  What more is that after listening several times I have discovered that the messages in the songs promote me to thinking even long after the songs have stopped playing.

All in all I really enjoyed listening to this cd.  My final thoughts are that in the process of escaping himself, Brinson has not only found freedom in Christ...but he has also found a new fan as well.  I look forward to even more releases from him and the GCE camp.

Da Final Word on "Escaping Me"

Four Stars (out of Five)
